Born in Karimnagar, Elapanty Sreenivas Raju, is a Well-Known name in light music. He is not only a singer, but also tried his hand in music direction and brought out several audio albums. Sreenivas Raju is found of music right from childhood and has eloquent voice to sing any kind of songs. Noticing his intrest, his parents and relatives encouraged him to learn music and Sreenivas Raju got trained in light music from katta Satyanarayana in his home town. After learning light music between 1983 and 1985, he started giving stage performances on various occasions.
His artistic talent came to light after attending the audition test at All India Radio in folk music in 1986 and in light music in 1993 and achieved the B - High grade in 1998. He earned critical acclaim for his talent in singing. There were lots of "Once Mores" from the audiences for several songs while performing on the stage in various orchestras. So far he had performed in over 4000 music concerts.
Leave alone, performing on the stage , he had also participated in singing competitions organized by various cultural organizations and won first prizes in 1983, 85, 86, 89 and 92. He participated in a light music competition held under the aegis of NCV Sangeetha parishad, Vijayawada in 1994 and emerged the winner at state-level. Not only in the regular competitions, he had also participated in different competitions held in the electronic media. He bagged the first place in "paduthaa...Teeyagaa..." in the ETV, and also in " Navaraagaam" program held by Gemini TV.
Besides continuing his career as a singer, Sreenivas Raju proved his social awareness and extended his support to "Akshara Ujwala" an Adult Education programme organized by the State Government in Karimnagar district.
After gaining experience in singing in various orchestras Raju started composing music and organized his own orchestra. Then he delivered his first audio album "Janapada Tarangalu"in 1990 . The audio cassette was released through Lahari Audio Recording company of Bangalore . Later he had brought out over 18 Audio Albums, of them six were devotional numbers, and the remaining belonged to various other categories including light, light classical, folk and other genre. He was also instrumental in bringing out "Greatway Pilustondi Raa(volume 1,2,3)songs related to personality development. Not only in telugu, he had also brought the Audio Cassettes in Tamil and Kannada languages.
He had also contributed his might in bringing out Audio Albums for the publicity of various social welfare programs like Family Planning, Environment, Pulse Polio, Adult Education and others. He had brought out one music album in each category.
